Halloween
We started Halloween off with a Zombie party. Thanks for dressing up Kt and Jeff! Mikel and I were Bill and Zoey from Left 4 Dead.

Mikel and I dressed as pirates for Halloween this year. We went to Amy's house and walked around with our nieces, nephew and cousins as they trick or treated.
We carved our pumpkin, two days late maybe, but it still turned out well I think. It's a silhouette of the four survivors from the Zombie video game Left 4 Dead. Here's our pumpkin inspiration.
And our actual pumpkin.

Speaking of pumpkins, here's Willburt!

And our actual pumpkin.Disney World
For those of you who don't know, Mikel and I went to Disney World for a few days near the end of October. Mikel's incredibly nice Aunt Stephanie took the entire family to Disney! We had a great time and stayed at the All-Star Movie hotel.
Each building of hotel rooms had a different theme. Ours was Fantasia. They also had Toy Story, Dalmatians, Mighty Ducks and Love Bug (we were really glad we didn't get that one).
The first night we went to the Magic Kingdom. They were open until 12am for Mickey's not so scary Halloween party.
The hotel was really neat. Besides the main Fantasia pool, there was a pool by the mighty ducks called the "duck pond." The Dalmatian area looked like a lot of fun too.
We also went to Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM). Aunt Stephanie and Uncle John gave us all family reunion t-shirts that were really neat. Tower of Terror and the Rockin' Roller coaster were a ton of fun. That night we saw Fantasmic, it was a really awesome show, then we came back to the hotel and went swimming!
We had a great time in Disney World! Thank you Aunt Stephanie!

Mr. Potato Head
I watched Emma and Ellie today and we checked up on my potato supply. The Idaho's are doing fine, my sweet potato... not so sweet anymore. However, everything turned out okay because we decided to turn the potato into Mr. Potato Head.

S-T-E-A-K
Peelander-Z is known for involving the crowd and their antics on stage. Watching their concert at AWA also showed me that their songs involve little more than a few words being repeated over and over. However, that doesn't matter a whole lot because they are very entertaining to watch and they rock hard. Here's a clip from their song called "steak." How do you like yours? MEDIUM RARE!!
Anime Weekend Atlanta
AWA has once again come and gone. Mikel and I had lots of fun dressing up this year. On Friday we were characters from a zombie video game called Left 4 Dead. Here's a picture of our characters and pictures of us.

I made the hand gun and shot gun using pvc pipe, cardboard, styrene, hot glue and spray paint!
On Saturday we dressed as Final Fantasy characters. Mikel is a Dragoon and I'm a Black Mage. We made most of both of these costumes ourselves. For Mikel's armor we used foam sheets and hot glued styrene (a thin moldable plastic) onto the foam. I sewed my hat and cloak from scratch.

As is tradition, we ate at Jocks and Jills. Thanks to mom and pop we actually ate there twice this year!

On Saturday night we saw a Japanese action comic rock band called Peelander-Z perform. They were a lot of fun. They say they are from planet Peelander-Z and their names are Peelander yellow, green and red. They also signed a poster for us.

A fun time was had by all!

Disney buys out Marvel
For anyone who hasn't heard the horrible news, Disney is in the process of buying out comic book company Marvel. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney as much as the next girl. Who can deny the classics? Aladdin, Lion King, Mulan, all wonderful movies! But when the company that created Mickey Mouse takes over the company that created Venom, interests get crossed and unnatural things happen.
I'm still hoping for the best, but the way Disney tends to overkill any semi popular character or show that they create, my hopes aren't too high. Let's just cross our fingers that Disney is a little more careful with things that they didn't create and hopefully not ruin the inventive strength of marvel comics.
