Easter

On the Saturday before Easter we went to Vogel to hunt for Easter eggs, eat food and have fun!


Raven's checking out her goodies that the Easter bunny left her.


I had a giant basket and I thought, 'hey, I bet I could fit Raven in that basket! That would probably be a cute Easter picture!' But Raven thought more along the lines of 'Why did mom just put me in a basket?'


Regardless of her thoughts, I ended up with two decent shots.


Hope every 'bunny' had a great Easter! Haha...hah?

Oh well, here's our Easter pumpkin! Who knew pumpkins could last six months? What resilient fruits!

Nap time

This baby would sleep all day if someone held her during her naps, but I've been fighting with her for a couple of months now to get her to nap in her crib. It has been awful. At first I let her nap with pillows on both sides of her to simulate being snuggled and I checked her often to make sure she could breath. She did okay with that, but the last couple of weeks I've taken the pillows out and she hates it. She rolls around, sticks her arm between the bars, has her face pushed against the sides. In rage she found the strength to roll over, but not sleep. I can't stand hearing her cry, so I'll go in there after ten minutes and she falls asleep the second I pick her up. Anyway, it has been crazy, but yesterday she actually fell asleep in her crib, so I was looking forward to testing her out today. However, Mikel texted me during his lunch and we talked on gmail, so I set Raven down on her activity mat. After his lunch I go to pick her up and put her in her crib and she is out like a light.


It's probably bad, but I just let her be. She slept a half hour before the crinkle of freddy the fireflies wings woke her up.

Rice Cereal

We started Raven on rice cereal last week. Most of it ended up on the bib or her face or hands, but see really seemed to like it. She kept trying to suck the spoon, but she was opening her mouth wide. She'll be a star eater in no time!

What I'll Miss About Winter

My sister Alison did a post like this and wanted to know what other people missed about winter, but not until this past week when I somehow had a yellow jacket, a wasp and a spider get into my house do I really miss winter.

1) I miss piling covers up on the bed and being snugly warm beneath them.
2) I miss wearing jackets everywhere because so many of my pants don't have pockets and jackets allow me to easily carry any small object I desire, key, phone, etc.
3) I miss Raven wearing that awesome yellow hat Ali made her, it is so cute.
4) I miss having fires in the fireplace.
5) Last but not least, I miss the absence of bugs. Though I suppose you must take the bad with the good, because I love looking at butterflies!

Gwinnet Braves

Raven had lots of fun at her first Braves game! She was great the whole time and was happy and screaming most of the time. The only part she didn't like was when they were trying to get everyone to scream to see who could scream the loudest and that scared her, but mimi protected her! Thanks for the fun Poppy!
